Eight years ago, this resulted in the development of the first worldwide sustainable and certified rain poncho made from GMO-free plant starch, a 100% biodegradable & compostable material. Numerous other organic products and brands have been created since the original BIO-rain poncho.
Today, we are the largest worldwide supplier of a wide range of organic rain ponchos and other organic products. Our entire BIO range is made from plant starch and is certified according to the European (EN 13432), the American (ASTM D6400) and the Australian (AS 4736-2006) standard. All our BIO-products are 100% biodegradable and compostable.

Our BIO-products are a sustainable, resource-efficient and environmentally friendly alternative to commonly used plastic products. They are reusable several times, water-resistant, breathable, food-safe and can be decomposed CO2-neutrally.

All our BIO-products are made from GMO-free renewable plant raw materials. They are certified with the “OK Compost” quality seal according to the EU Standard EN 13432. This means they are 100% biodegradable and compostable.

But, not only the raw material and finished BIO-products, additionally also the ink for printing, masterbatch ink for dyeing the material are certified and 100% biodegradable and compostable. The “OK Compost“ quality seal was issued to us in 2017 by TÜV AUSTRIA. The test procedure for obtaining the quality seal is based on the internationally recognized EU Standard EN 13432.
What does 100% biodegradable and compostable mean? It means that the material decomposes CO2-neutrally into its natural occurring, renewable and non-toxic starting substances (H2O + CO2). This happens during an active degradation process. The degradation process takes place either in an industrial composting plant within 8 to 12 weeks, or slowly in the in-house compost, with the help of microorganisms or enzymes and heat. The other option for a CO2-neutral break down is the incineration in a waste incineration plant.

Another benefit is that even the degradability of products made from plant raw materials in the ocean has been tested and confirmed by the EU´s initiated “Environmental Technology Verification“ program. The break down time is 35-39 weeks.
All our BIO-products can be stored up to 2 years in a dry environment, protected from light and at an appropriate storage temperature. Afterwards a natural, passive and slow decomposition process begins.
We have opened a production facility in Ukraine. From now on, our BIO-rain ponchos can also be produced in this brand new production site in the western part of Ukraine. Delivery time is 3-4 weeks. Minimum order quantity is 1.000 pcs. Next to our main Chinese production we are now able to offer you European produced BIO-rain ponchos.
